Statement of Faith
1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative, written Word of God.
2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
3. We believe that Jesus Christ was God in human flesh, at once fully divine and fully human. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His present ministry of intercession, and His personal return in power and glory.
4. We believe that human beings were created in the image of God but rebelled against God and are therefore fallen, lost, estranged from their Creator, and in need of salvation.
5. We believe that only those who, in repentance and faith, receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord are converted, born again of the Holy Spirit, and thus become children of God.
6. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit who convicts of sin and enables the Christian to pursue a life characterized by personal holiness and faithful discipleship in obedience to Jesus Christ.
7. We believe that the church, the “body of Christ”, is composed of all those of every nation who through saving faith have entered into a vital relationship with Jesus Christ. We further believe that the church is at the very center of God’s cosmic purpose, and that He has committed to the church and every member of it the task of making Christ known throughout the world.
8. We believe that local congregations of baptized believers exist to equip the body of Christ—through such means as worship, teaching, fellowship and prayer—to spread the Gospel of Christ; to extend the influence of the Kingdom of God in the world; to turn themselves outward to their local communities in evangelistic witness and compassionate service.
9. We believe that the reality of sin in the human heart results in suffering, injustice, strife, and moral decay in society.
10. We believe that, in Jesus Christ, the way of love and reconciliation is revealed as God’s way for His people and that the people of God are called to value the sanctity of human life, alleviate suffering, oppose injustice, refrain from force and violence, work in peaceful relationships, and to live as responsible stewards of all of God’s creation.
11. We believe that God intends human life to begin in families and to be blessed through families. At the beginning of human history God instituted marriage and He intends marriage to be a covenant between one man and one woman for life. According to Scripture, right sexual union takes place only within the marriage relationship. Marriage is meant for sexual intimacy, companionship, and the birth and nurture of children.
12. We believe that ministry continues the work of Christ, who gives gifts through the Holy Spirit to all believers and empowers them for service in the church and in the world. We also believe that God calls particular persons in the church to specific leadership ministries and offices. In the church, redemption in Christ gives men and women an equal share in the blessings of salvation. At the same time the New Testament does affirm that there are some different functions and roles for men and women.
13. We believe in the resurrection of all people, those who are saved unto the resurrection of everlasting blessedness with the Lord, and those who are lost to eternal separation from God.
14. We believe that, in the fullness of time, God will bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Declaración de Fe
1. Creemos que la Biblia es la inspirada, infalible, autoritaria, palabra escrita de Dios.
2. Creemos que hay un solo Dios, eternamente existente en tres personas: Padre, Hijo, y Espíritu Santo.
3. Creemos que Jesucristo era Dios en carne humana, que a la vez fue completamente divino y completamente humano. Creemos en su nacimiento virginal, su vida sin pecado, sus milagros, su muerte vicaria y propiciatoria en la cruz, su resurrección corporal, su ascensión a la mano derecha del Padre, su ministerio actual de intercesión, y su regreso personal en poder y gloria.
4. Creemos que los seres humanos fueron creados a la imagen de Dios pero se rebelaron contra Dios por lo tanto están caídos, perdidos, separados de su Creador, y con necesidad de la salvación.
5. Creemos que solamente los que reciben a Cristo Jesús como Salvador y Señor con arrepentimiento y fe, son convertidos, nacidos de nuevo en el Espíritu Santo, por lo tanto llegan a ser hijos de Dios.
6. Creemos en el presente ministerio del Espíritu Santo que convence de pecado y permite al cristiano perseguir una vida caracterizada por santidad personal y un fiel discipulado en obediencia a Cristo Jesús.
7. Creemos que la iglesia, el “cuerpo de Cristo”, se compone de todos los de cada nación que con fe salvadora han entrado en una relación vital con Cristo Jesús. Creemos además que la iglesia está en el centro del propósito cósmico de Dios, y que él ha confiado a la iglesia y a cada miembro de ella la tarea de hacer conocer a Cristo a través del mundo.
8. Creemos que existen las congregaciones locales de creyentes bautizados para equipar el cuerpo de Cristo – por medio de adoración, enseñanza, comunión y oración – para difundir el Evangelio de Cristo; para extender la influencia del Reino de Dios en el mundo; para entregarse a sus comunidades locales en testimonio evangelístico y servicio compasivo.
9. Creemos que la realidad del pecado en el corazón del ser humano resulta en sufrimiento, a la injusticia, a los conflictos, y a la decadencia moral en la sociedad.
10. Creemos que, en Cristo Jesús, la manera del amor y de la reconciliación es revelada como el ejemplo de Dios para su pueblo y que su pueblo es llamado para valorar la santidad de la vida humana, aliviar el sufrimiento, oponer injusticia, refrenarse de la fuerza y de la violencia, trabajar en relaciones pacíficas, y vivir como mayordomos responsables de toda la creación de Dios.
11. Creemos que Dios quiere que la vida humana comience en familias y sean bendecidas por medio de familias. Al principio de la historia humana Dios instituyó el matrimonio y él quiere que el matrimonio sea un convenio entre un hombre y una mujer para toda la vida. Según las Escrituras, la unión sexual legítima ocurre solamente dentro de la relación del matrimonio. El matrimonio se instituyó para la intimidad sexual, el compañerismo, y el nacimiento y cuidado de los niños.
12. Creemos que el ministerio continúa la obra de Cristo, quien da dones por medio del Espíritu Santo a todos los creyentes y los autoriza para el servicio en la iglesia y en el mundo. También creemos que Dios llama a personas particulares en la iglesia para ministerios y oficios específicos de liderazgo. En la iglesia, la redención en Cristo da a hombres y a mujeres una parte igual en las bendiciones de la salvación. Al mismo tiempo el Nuevo Testamento afirma que hay algunas funciones y papeles diferentes para hombres y mujeres.
13. Creemos en la resurrección de todos, de los que son salvos en la resurrección de eterna bendición con el Señor, y de aquellos que se pierden en la separación eterna de Dios.
14. Creemos que, en la plenitud del tiempo, Dios traerá juntas todas las cosas en el cielo y en la tierra bajo una sóla cabeza, el Señor Jesucristo.
